When a company with a reputation like Bosch’s makes a coffee pod machine, you’d be right to expect great things. The Bosch Tassimo Suny TAS3202GB is no exception.
It’s a regular contender in the best buy and recommended lists, boasting a 4.3 star rating on Amazon and other retail sites. So what makes it so highly rated?
Well, there’s plenty to like about the Bosch Tassimo Suny TAS3202GB. If you’re buying a coffee pod machine, then chances are you want a great cup of coffee without the hassle of brewing it manually. That’s exactly what you can expect from this machine.
The Bosch Tassimo Suny TAS3202GB is described as ‘the quick one’ by Tassimo. It’s not hard to see why. The innovative INTELLIBREW™ heater technology means there is virtually no heat-up time – just 27 seconds in fact. And pop in an espresso disc, and you’ll be getting your caffeine rush in around 20 seconds.
As for turning it on, this Tassimo offers what’s called the Smart Start system. Press your preferred mug or cup against the front of the machine, and it’s raring to go. It couldn’t be simpler.
Wondering whether your mahine’s ready to use, has enough water, or if it’s time for a descale? Then the simple range of just three LED lights makes sure you always know.
The offers a three height adjustable and removable cup tray. This makes it ideal for smaller cups, which can be raised. However, in common with lots of other coffee pod machines, this machine doesn’t cope so well with larger cups, especially latte glasses.
It can hold up to 0.8 litres of water; slightly above the more common 0.7 litres that many coffee pod machines take.
No machine is perfect, but this one isn’t far off. The volume of the machine is one issue that users have reported but, apart from cleaning, this lasts around twenty seconds at most, so is bearable.
Some report that it’s too easy to install the pods a little out of position. You need to be careful when popping the discs in, especially the milk ones as otherwise, you could find yourself cleaning up your kitchen sides!
Another criticism relates to the manual, which comes in picture form rather than having written instructions. Although simple enough to use on the whole, some users recommend getting online and watching videos.
This Tassimo is easy to clean if a little time-consuming. The bottom LED light tells you when it needs doing – usually once a month. It also doesn’t have a water filter, so may need cleaning more often in hard water areas.
Add a descaler to the water tank, pop in the T-Disc that operates the cleaning programme, and it’ll run an automated programme.
Be aware, though, that it’s not a quick process. It takes half an hour to drip the descaler through, then it requires three water cycles, taking around two hours in total.
So make sure you’ve had your coffee before starting. And the noise issue could mean that you want to shut the door while it works away.
Over forty different drinks are available in the range for this model. Alongside your standard espressos and long milky drinks, you can enjoy normal and fruit teas, hot chocolate, and chai lattes.
The Tassimo range features a patented barcode system. Each drink type features a barcode that the machine scans. It then delivers a cup of your favourite beverage brewed to the perfect strength, length and temperature.
Should you prefer a little more volume to your coffee than is delivered as standard, you can top it up by holding down the same button that you press to start the brewing process.
As with many coffee pod machines, your drink choices are limited to those capsules produced by the manufacturer. Compatible pods aren’t available.
But with forty plus drink options available, you should find something.
For those who prefer a cappuccino, latte or similar, then some people find the milk from the pods to be a little too sweet for their preference.
The Smart Start has to be considered an advanced feature, as does the trademarked INTELLIBREW™. Together, these make it the ideal machine for those who hate to wait for their caffeine shot.
Like other Tassimo models, this model has just a 3.3 water bar pressure, but this is adequate for what it does, and doesn’t stop it delivering a great cup of coffee.
Even if it’s not as stylish as some other machines, it’s still attractive looking.
Available in four different colours (black, red, white and blue, if you’re wondering), there’s a colour for every home. At 25cm x 16.7cm x 30.5 cm, it’s compact enough for any kitchen.
With such a reputable manufacturer it’s not surprising that you get a high-quality coffee pod machine.
For ease of use, there’s little to criticise about the Bosch Tassimo Suny TAS3202GB other than the cleaning time. Likewise, the time it takes to heat the water and deliver a coffee cannot be faulted.
The only real criticisms are the time it takes to clean the machine and the fact that it is rather noisy. And it’s worth noting that you can only use Tassimo pods in this machine, limiting your choice.
